Dean Lontos

dean_lontosDean Lontos started his real estate career in the early 80’s and since then has been involved in a variety of successful enterprises and initiatives. He is the founder and managing partner of Bay Mountain Capital, which is a direct private lender serving the housing industry. The company provides acquisition, development and renovation financing for single family and multifamily projects in Texas. Dean provides strategic direction to Bay Mountain Capital and is responsible for new multi-family and commercial loan originations.

Before establishing Bay Mountain, he co-founded TriVest Residential, a real estate operating company active in the middle-market multifamily sector. From 2000 to 2005, he guided the company through over $200 million in acquisitions comprised of 15 communities and 5000 apartment units. He capitalized those acquisitions with two private equity transactions of over $50 million and debt financing of over $150 million.

Previously, Dean served as Senior Vice President of McNeil Real Estate, a fully integrated real estate operating company. He was responsible for the portfolio management and transaction activities of the company’s extensive U.S. holdings, which included over $700 million of multi-family, office and retail properties. He also served on the company’s investment committee and played a key role in the disposition of this portfolio to Goldman Sachs. His tenure at McNeil lasted from 1986 to 2000.

Over the last 30 years, Dean has been involved in thousands of transactions involving billions of dollars of real estate. In the process, he has worked with hundreds of industry professionals and has developed a reputation of high competency, integrity, and success in the areas of finance, investment and asset management. He has developed or acquired numerous residential and commercial properties either personally or through investment partnerships in which he sponsored.

Dean is especially skilled at deal structuring and enjoys creating systems and processes which enhance productivity and efficiency. He has a passion for entrepreneurship which dates back to his college days, where he co-founded the University Entrepreneurial Association at the University of Texas while obtaining a degree in Finance.

Phil Sanchez

Finance, Legal, Investor Relations

Phil Sanchez has 30 years of experience in multiple areas of real estate, corporate finance and business analysis. He is a principal of Bay Mountain Capital and responsible for finance, legal, banking relationships and investor relations.

Prior to joining Bay Mountain Capital, Phil spent 17 years at JC Penney Company, Inc. where he held several positions of increasing responsibility, including serving as an officer of the company for the last seven years. His officer roles included Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Investor Relations, and Assistant Treasurer. During his career at JC Penney, he was responsible for a broad scope of corporate finance functions, including banking and treasury management, investment banking and credit rating agency relationships, and financial planning for the company’s operating divisions.

As Vice President of Investor Relations for JC Penney, Phil was the principal Company spokesman with the financial community and was responsible for the development of both internal and external communications relating to operating performance, financial management policies, and long-term strategies and objectives.

In his position as Assistant Treasurer for JC Penney, Phil was responsible for the banking and cash management group, as well as being a key person in the development and execution of the company’s long-term financing strategy. He participated in the offering and underwriting of numerous bond financing transactions, and, working closely with the CFO, was the principal author of all long-term financing plan presentations presented to the company’s board of directors. Prior to JC Penney, Phil was an Assistant Vice President in the asset management group at McNeil Real Estate and got his start in real estate by holding financial analyst positions with several multi-family and retail development firms.

Phil has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas in Austin.

Pam O’Bar

Accounting, Loan Servicing

Pam O’Bar started her accounting career in the mid-1980’s, and since then has held challenging positions in a variety of industries including public accounting, real estate, and within the government. She has been the controller for Bay Mountain Capital since inception and became a Principal in 2013. Pam manages all accounting and note servicing functions for Bay Mountain Capital. She prides herself on building relationships with both customers and investors.

Prior to working with Bay Mountain Capital, Pam was the controller of the largest real estate company in San Antonio from 1992 to 1995. She oversaw the accounting functions both for the real estate sales division and the property management and maintenance divisions. Following this position, Pam decided to become a “stay at home” mom. She spent time playing army, drawing, and volunteering at her children’s schools. The time was well spent but once they were busy with their own activities, she decided it was time to return to accounting and was offered an opportunity with an affiliate of Bay Mountain Capital in 2006.

In addition, Pam has previously served as chief of the branch responsible for providing accounting services for the largest warehousing operation in Europe and an extensive hotel and restaurant business. She provided accounting for the United States Army Europe Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Operations Program and coordinated payroll data processing functions for all civilian employees in Europe.

After graduation from college, Pam began her career as a staff accountant for a public accounting firm. She performed a variety of accounting tasks to include audits, reviews, compilations, tax planning, tax preparation, software implementation, and numerous other accounting functions. While at the public accounting firm she earned her Certified Public Accountant certificate by passing all four parts of the CPA exam at one time.

She has a BBA degree in accounting from Troy University in Troy, Alabama where she graduated summa cum laude. She’s been married to her husband George for almost 30 years and has 2 sons. One is a freshman at Oklahoma State University studying architecture and the other is a senior at Texas A&M where he is pursuing a graduate degree in accounting. She’s been married to her husband George for over 30 years and has 2 sons. In her spare time she likes outdoor adventures, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Wayne Corley

Single Family Loan Originations

Wayne Corley has been a licensed Texas attorney since 1995 with experience in a wide variety of commercial financial transactions. He has been a member of Bay Mountain Capital since its inception and is responsible for the closing of approved loans, including documentation, title review, and final approval of funding. He is also involved with Investor relations and oversees compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.

From 1995 to 1999, Wayne practiced as a corporate finance attorney in large downtown Dallas law firms. His practice consisted of representing lending institutions in corporate and commercial financial transactions, including asset based credit facilities, subordinate debt and mezzanine investments.

In pursuit of his passion, fast cars, Wayne put his law career aside in 1999 and began working at Boardwalk Porsche. At Boardwalk Porsche, Wayne helped create the driver education team and also became a Porsche Club Driving Instructor.

In pursuit of even faster cars, in 2004 he became a founding partner of the first RUF dealership in the US. RUF is a German car company specializing in high performance Porsche tuning and special build cars. At RUF, Wayne was in-house counsel, in charge of North American sales and customer relations as well as the liaison with the RUF factory in Germany. He was also able to put his driver training to use in multiple 600+ horsepower vehicles. He participated in various national magazine tests, topping 208 mph in one.

He has a BA in history from the University of Texas and a JD from Whittier Law School. At Whittier Law, Wayne graduated in the top 10 percent of his class and was a member of the Law Review. He is currently licensed as a Mortgage Loan Originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System. Wayne was born in 1966 and is in excellent health. He regularly engages in a variety of physical activities, from completing a 12 mile Tough Mudder obstacle course to riding a bicycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

Sandra Thomas has a BA in Economics from the University of Dallas in Irving. Upon graduating from UD in 1990, she worked for 10 years in the Commercial Real Estate business processing lease agreements, providing monthly analysis reports, and maintaining accurate database records.  In 2000, she decided to become a stay-at-home Mom and raise three children.  During this time she was avidly involved with the PTA, holding numerous Board and Committee Chair positions, including President, where she cultivated excellent communication, phone and customer service skills.  Upon her return to the corporate world, her strong attention to detail, and ability to multitask and meet time-constraints, has made her an asset to Bay Mountain Capital as a loan closer. Rachel is a native East Texan and has an extensive background in administration, construction accounting and residential construction project management. After studying computer science in Alexandria, VA, she began her career providing administrative support for C level executives in the software and avionics industries where she independently authored the help file for a communication platform and developed a digital storage process for a quality control group.

She then returned home and became a Texas Realtor in 2004 and spent several years working with her uncle’s Luxury Custom Home Building company in Dallas before becoming a mom.

She is the owner of the real estate brokerage Presley Jones Realty LLC, a member of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors and holds the National Association of Realtor’s Pricing Strategy Advisor Certification.
